Flamenco Beach

One of the top beaches in the world and a horseshoe shaped bay, the Flamenco Beach is located in Culebra and stretches for a mile. The Flamenco Beach is bordered by the Culebra National Wildlife Refuge and is great for swimming and snorkeling. The Flamenco beach is practically waveless because it is a protected cove and its name comes from flamingos that visit during the winter. The Flamenco Beach has a tank in the water from WWII when the US Navy used to do target practice on the land. The tank has since rusted and crumbled in the water and now the locals have decorated it. Some animals found near the Flamenco Beach are parrot fish, blue tang, and, occasionally, sea turtles. Overall, the Flamenco Beach is popular by Puerto Ricans in the summer and by flamingos in the winter.

The Flamenco Beach has a sandy bottom and often calm waters
